    Keep in mind that these sources, though close to final, are based off slightly earlier versions of the levels, so differences in item placement and geometry do exist. The original map sources for the game Quake, as built by id Software in 1996. Also for download are the WAD files needed to build the levels.
    Each episode has a secret level. Those are marked *secretlevel * below. They are listed right after the map in which a hidden teleporter exists. See the secrets pages if you need help locating them. There is a bug with Fishes in Quake. If a map has fishes they count twice for the total number of monsters (as you see on the intermission screen).
    In 2006, in time for Quake 's 10th anniversary, John Romero dipped into his personal archives and released the map sources for the game under the GPL. Since it's Quake 1's tenth anniversary this year (starting June 22nd) I thought I'd dig up and release all of Quake's original map sources.
    If you're still missing textures, load the included QUAKE101.WAD instead.
